The Chianti region stretches on a large country area from the outskirts of Florence to Siena. Along these hills right in the middle of the very precious vineyards and wineries famous today for great red wines like the Chianti and the Brunello of Montalcino (Montalcino is a small town just outside of Siena), you will find many small medieval towns like Volterra, San Giminiano and Monteriggioni worth a visit. From the hills you can admire the olive trees, another great proud for the region of Tuscany, the green geometry of the vineyards, the roads lined with tall green cypresses and the yellowness of the sunflowers fields all together create a unique painting.
Roads in Chianti are good even though they are famously winding; but that is their charm since you can admire the beautiful landscape around you.
